About Me

Quick Bio

Born in 1969, it took me quite a while to find my right lane in life. After graduating from business school and working a zillion odd jobs, I eventually came around to the conclusion that I wasn’t executive material. Always feeling itchy fingers around a box of crayons and a piece of paper, the last time of getting sacked finally made me decide to take the plunge and try my luck in the field of freelance illustration. I aptly named my studio “Dutch Courage Graffix” and havn’t looked back since. My artwork heavily gravitates around the field of Kustom Kulture and my drawings and paintings usually have more or less of a “cartoony” touch. I obviously have a predilection for automotive work, especially when it’s hot rod related. With All-American heroes like Ed “Big Daddy” Roth, Ed “Newt” Newton, Rick Griffin and Robert Williams pointing the way, I’m trying to develop a style of my own. I live in the small Dutch town of Heythuysen with my girlfriend Claudy. We have two kids together: Koen and Vera.

Tools of the Trade
